Nature's
gifts of recreation at MISSION INN are enhanced by
breathtaking golf courses, smashing tennis facilities and
a staff of professionals to keep you playing your best.
Round up a game of volleyball or immerse yourself in the
bubbling waters of a spa. Explore the surroundings by bike
or jogging trails. There is even a hand-crafted children's
playground. Browse in our lovely specialty shops or simply
stretch out with a cool tall drink from our poolside bar.
Marina del Rey, our nautical center on Lake Harris, one
of Florida's largest lakes, provides the fun for fishing
and sight-seeing. For a special treat, pamper yourself with
a cruise aboard our exquisitely restored 1930s river yacht,
La Reina.
El Campeon, the golf course seen here and built
in 1926, is one of the south's oldest golf courses. Here
the architect, Charles Clarke of Troon, Scotland, blended
unusual elevation changes of more than 85 feet with features
of traditional golf design. Rolling fairways and undulating
greens only begin to characterize Las Colinas. The signature
hole is the par 5, 12th, featuring a narrow tree-lined fairway
requiring accuracy from tee to green.
The other golf treasure here is Las Colinas, nominated
as Golf Digest's 1992 "Best New Resort Course" and a recipient
of Golf for Women's "Top FairWays" recognition. It offers
quite a different challenge from El Campeon. Its wide open
fairways and gentle rolling hills create an inland links
design. Greens are large and undulating, while the course's
classic old architecture style demands proper shot placement.
The signature par 5, 12th hole "Allgator Alley", is 493
yards along one of the few tree-lined fairways, requiring
accuracy from tee to green.
